Our subsidiary PLS Truck Bodies has now begun deliveries of one of the company's largest orders ever. The order is part of the extensive vehicle investment that Scania Sweden awarded by The Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV), which is the largest order Scania Sweden has received from FMV in modern times.
The deal to PLS includes 75 heavy vehicles with an option for an additional 75. The vehicles will play a central role in strengthening the Swedish Armed Forces' logistics capacity and defense capability at a time when the global situation places high demands on preparedness and robust supply chains.
PLS Truck Bodies delivery consists of EX III-classified truck boxes, specially built to handle the transport of explosive substances with a higher risk level according to the ADR regulations. The EX III classification means that the cabinets meet special requirements regarding construction, tightness, strength, ventilation and electrical safety – all to minimize the risk of ignition or spread of hazardous substances in the event of an accident. EX III is used when transporting more sensitive or larger quantities of explosive goods compared to EX II.

For PLS, the order is not only historic in scope, but also a fine continuation of the company's long tradition of delivering construction to the Swedish Armed Forces. During the 1980s and 1990s, PLS was a recurring supplier of robust and customized solutions to the Swedish Defense Forces. Now, that relationship is being strengthened once again.
